Okanagan College's Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate course in wills and estates (LSEC 160) is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding to become proficient in the field of wills and estates law as a Legal Administrative Assistant.

Through online and in-person instruction, students are taught the fundamentals of wills and estates law, estate planning, navigating probate, and more.

Furthermore, the program allows students to network with future industry counterparts and build a strong professional network as they launch their careers. With the knowledge gained from the program, students develop the skills to take on the real-world challenges of working in a wills and estates division within the law firm to become successful in the field.

By partnering with Estateably, a leading Canadian estate administration software, Okanagan College's Wills and Estates Program is taking their instruction further - obtaining a certification demonstrating mastery of Estateably’s functionalities.

"Our partnership with Estateably will allow our students to learn the technology and tools modern practices use to go through probate and estate accounting. This certification will provide students with the knowledge and skills to succeed when entering the workforce and the ability to contribute meaningful work sooner than ever before.”

Terry Becker, Legal Administrative Assistant Instructor, Okanagan School of Business

The program allows students to gain hands-on experience with estate administration software, offering an even more comprehensive educational experience. Estateably’s software is integrated into the course’s learning modules allowing students to prepare probate documents, template letters, inventorise assets and liabilities and perform full estate accountings with the modern tools firms use.

“With the knowledge students gain from the program, combined with the experience they gain with Estateably's software, students are even more well-equipped to take on the challenges of the modern legal world."

Ari Brojde, CEO, Estateably

This prepares students for the future and ensures they are ahead of the curve when it comes to the latest technology and legal practices in wills and estates. The students in the program will be the first in Canada to receive certifications in Estateably’s software.
